Born in 2010 from a common passion for the great wines of Burgundy, Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau is the creation of young winemakers Frantz Chagnoleau and Caroline Gon. The couple produce pure, handcrafted, Mâconnais wines from their 7 hectares of certified organic vineyards, many of which are worked by horse. In addition to organic farming, they practice biodynamic winemaking, aiming to achieve the most natural expression possible of their terroirs - the best balance of the vine, the soil, and the environment. Everything is done by hand, with the grapes hand-picked on a plot-by-plot basis, allowing each vine to achieve the appropriate balance of sugar and acidity. In the cellar, there is minimal intervention, with the wines left to ferment in large, used French oak vats and casks with the help of native yeasts. Showing great finesse, the wines are incredibly rich, precise, and complex.
