ルイスは少数の信頼できる生産者と協力し、ドウロ渓谷やヴィーニョ・ヴェルデの人里離れた場所にある古い区画から古樹ブドウを仕入れています。 彼は単一のブドウ畑ではなく、高酸性の固い土壌であるシストなどの単一土壌タイプに焦点を当てています。 ワイン造りは穏やかで低介入で、自発的な自然酵母による発酵が行われます。 ブドウの個性を保つということを最優先にワインは造られます。

Luis Seabra launched his winery in 2013 after a celebrated career as a soil researcher in Vinho Verde, and producer of world-famous still wines at Dirk Niepoort’s estate in the Douro Valley.

Luis is a leader of the “New Portugal” renaissance - a movement of young, independent winemakers who are reclaiming historical vineyards, grape varieties, and techniques, to craft fresh, elegant, terroir-driven still wines.

Working with a small number of trusted growers, Luis sources old-vine grapes from ancient plots tucked away in remote corners of the Douro Valley and Vinho Verde. Rather than single vineyards, his focus is on single soiltypes such as Xisto, a high-acid, crystalline soil. The winemaking is gentle and low- intervention, with spontaneous, native yeast fermentations. Preserving the character of the grape is the priority.
