Located in the commune of Monteforte D’Alpone, in the very heart of the Soave Classico district, just east of Verona, this small estate was founded in the early 1980s and is headed by Graziano Prà - an award-winning producer of both Soave and Valpolicella wines.
The Prà holdings consist of 37 hectares of esteemed vineyard sites. The Soave vineyards are planted on the slopes of a dormant volcano, with the black, volcanic soils imparting an underlying power and minerality to the wines. The 8 hectares in eastern Valpolicella are planted on glacial soils at 500m elevation. Graziano has farmed both sites organically since the outset, and all grapes are harvested by hand.
Universally regarded as one of a handful of world-class producers in Soave who have revitalised the region, Graziano crafts wines of great quality and finesse. His range of Soaves, covering a wide spectrum of styles and flavours, are some of Italy’s most interesting white wines: vivid, fresh, flavourful, and capable of aging. The red wines are equally refined and complex, tending towards medium-body - highly perfumed and very savoury with a bright finish and mineral core.
