Founded in 2003 by owner Ludwig Bindernagel (nickname Lulu), a Bavarian architect with a 20-year career in Paris, the estate holds a total of 4 hectares in Polyny, Etoile and the legendary Château-Chalon. Located in the small, mountainous wine-growing region between Burgundy and Switzerland, the vineyards are rich in fossilized oysters and are farmed organically and sustainably, with no use of insecticides, chemical fertilizers, or heavy machinery. The estate is also in the process of gaining Biodynamic certification. With the motto “the wine is made in the vineyard”, Lulu has a completely natural approach to wine making, in a non-intervention traditional style. Fermentations are done slowly at very low temperatures, resulting in complex, layered wines with great depth. Available in limited quantities.
