ワイナリー名のソーホーは、ニューヨーク市にある同名の地に由来するものです。流行や文化、エンターテイメントの中心地である同地区の名を冠して2009年にレイチェル・カーターがワイナリーを設立しました。

カーター家はニュージーランドの3つのトップ生産地、マールボロ、セントラル・オタゴとワイへケ・アイランドに畑を所有しています。ソーホー・ワインズはそれぞれの産地の著名なワインメーカーと契約を結びスタイリッシュで高品質、土地の個性を反映させたワインを造っています。ワイン醸造に関してマールボロはデイヴ・クロウストン氏、オークランドはジェームズ・ロワン氏、セントラル・オタゴはグラント・テイラー氏に一任しています。

サステナビリティへの関心も強いソーホーの手掛けるワインはコンクールでの受賞も多数。ワイナリーの現代的でお洒落なエチケットデザインは、デザイナーのトム・フォードからインスピレーションを得ています。

 

Named after the Soho neighbourhood of New York, and reflecting a boundless passion for life, culture & entertainment, SOHO Wines was founded in 2009 by Rachel Carter.

Utilising vineyards owned by the Carter family in three of New Zealand’s top wine-making regions – Marlborough, Central Otago and Waiheke Island - SOHO contracts an award-winning winemaker in each to produce a range of premium, stylish wines with distinct regional personality. The winemaking team consists of Dave Clouston in Marlborough, James Rowan in Auckland and Grant Taylor in Otago.

With a strong focus on sustainability, SOHO consistently produces gold-medal-winning wines encapsulated in chic, contemporary branding that takes a leaf out of style icon Tom Ford’s playbook.
