ポルトガルに設立された最初にして最古のイギリスのポート会社がワレです。ワレの歴史はポートの歴史と共にありました。1670年の設立以来、14世代に渡って家族経営を存続しています。
ワレは1750年よりポートの輸出を継続しており、看板であるヴィンテージポートはこの歴史を伝統継承するものであり、また未来への新しい革新の指標を築き上げていく上で大切に受け継がれるものであります。ワレは輝けるポートの歴史を継承していく上で品質と伝統に限りない敬意を払っています。

ワレは今日シミントン家によって所有・運営されています。シミントン家は350年に渡りポートの貿易に携わってきたファミリーでドウロ・ヴァレーの生産者の中で一番広大なブドウ畑を所有しています。その広さは計5,527エーカーに上る26のブドウ農園と2,530エーカーの畑を誇ります。畑はサステナブル農法を実践しており、中でも276エーカーはオーガニック栽培で管理しています、これはドウロ・ヴァレーで最大のオーガニック栽培面積です。偉大なヴィンテージポートの芳醇な華やかさを持ち、フローラルでフレッシュ、エレガントなワレのポートの特徴は標高の高い畑から収穫したブドウで造る唯一無二のスタイルです。

The first and oldest British port company established in Portugal, Warre’s is synonymous with the history of port. Founded in 1670, it has remained a family business for 14 generations. Warre’s Warrior has been shipped continuously since 1750, and the company’s famous vintage ports have continued this tradition, setting the benchmark for innovation and reflecting Warre’s legacy of tireless commitment to quality and heritage.

Warre’s is owned and run by the Symington family - a leading light of the port trade for over 350 years. Symington Family Estates has more holdings in the Douro Valley than any other producer, with 26 Quintas covering 5,527 acres and 2,530 acres of vineyard. Their vineyards are sustainabling managed and 276 acres are organically farmed - the largest acreage of organic vineyards in the Douro. Whilst retaining the underlying rich opulence of great vintage port, Warre’s signature style is floral, fresh and elegant, reflecting the particular characteristics of these wonderful high-altitude vineyards.
