The Berthier family has lived in the Centre-Loire region for six generations. In the early 1980s, Jean-Marie Berthier established the beautiful Vignobles Berthier estate. Today, Jean-Marie’s two sons, Clement and Florian, manage the domaine in Sainte-Gemme-en-Sancerrois, producing a range of precise wines which display a distinct sense of origin. The family owns and farms premium vineyards across three classic Loire appellations - Sancerre, Pouilly Fume and the Coteaux du Giennois. With a focus on sauvignon blanc for the whites and pinot noir and gamay for the reds, the vineyards are farmed using sustainable and natural viticulture. These practices, along with minimal intervention in the winery, enable winemaker, Clement Berthier, to bring out the very best expression of the noble terroirs in the Berthier wines.
