Established in 2009 by James Erskine, one of Australia’s most decorated sommeliers, Jauma is an artisanal natural wine producer located in Lenswood, Adelaide Hills, South Australia. A pioneer of the Australian natural wine movement, James launched his brand as a reaction to the chemical industrialisation of farming and the normalisation of chemical additions in winemaking. Sustainable care for the land, its plant life and soils are at the forefront of James’ philosophy. He and his team craft the Jauma wines from 100% organically grown grapes. In the winery on the family-owned 40-acre Jauma Farm, the wines are made in the most natural way possible, with manipulation shunned. Fermentations are done with wild yeasts, with no additions, preservatives, or filtration, and no new oak is used. A benchmark for ‘natural done well’, these are pure and living wines, uninhibited in their portrayal of terroir, and character. They are renowned for their stability, brightness, and fruit expression, coupled with elegance and structure.
