Situated near Béziers, in the Languedoc, Mas La Chevalière is the creation of Michel Laroche of the famed Chablis producer Domaine LaRoche. A leader in the resurgence of quality winemaking in the south of France in the early 1980s, Michel established Mas La Chevalière in 1995 after a long search for the perfect site, with the goal of producing wines that truly reflect the diversity of the Southern French varietals, climate and terroir. 45 hectares of vines were planted or replanted across different vineyards with the varietals best suited to each parcel and microclimate. The white varietals are planted on high altitude, cooler parcels, and the reds on hillside terraces. Organic practices are used in many of the vineyards and yields have been vastly reduced. A strikingly modern state-of-the-art winery stands on the grounds of the impressive 18th century house.
Mas La Chevalière produces an exceptional range of white and rosé wines, all light and fresh, and red wines that are rich, beautifully balanced and very well structured.
