ドメーヌ・ユベール・ヴェルドローは1994年にティエボー・ユベールが設立しましたが、ヴォルネイでのヴェルドロー家のブドウ栽培の歴史は19世紀にまで遡ります。 1976年にティエボーの祖父、ラウル・ヴェルドローが2人の娘に土地を譲渡し、ティエボーの両親であるユベール夫妻は3ヘクタールを相続しました。ワイン生産者でもなくブルゴーニュにも住んでもいない彼らは、1994年にティエボーがファースト・ヴィンテージをリリースするまで、他の生産者に土地を貸していました。小さな3ヘクタールから現在は10ヘクタールにまで畑を広げ、 7つの村に32区画を所有し22アペラシオンのワインを生産しています。

設立当初からバイオダイナミック栽培を貫き、畑への最小限の介入、亜硫酸の使用を最小限に抑えたワイン造りを行い、非常に軽やかで優しい抽出が彼のワインのスタイルです。彼の造るヴォルネイとポマールは柔らかく非常にエレガントで洗練されており、若いうちから親しみやすく、時を重ねると美しく熟成します。

Domaine Huber-Vedereau was founded by Thiébault Huber in 1994, but dates to the 19th century when the Verdereau family began cultivating vines on their property in Volnay. In 1976, Thiebault’s grandfather, Raoul Verdereau, split the estate between his two daughters, with Thiebault’s parents Monsieur and Madame Huber receiving three hectares. Being neither winegrowers nor living in Burgundy, they rented out the estate to other growers until 1990 when Thiébault established Domaine Huber Verdereau, releasing his first vintage in 1994. From the original tiny three hectares, the domaine now extends to just under 10 hectares, spread over seven villages, 32 plots of land and 22 different appellations.

An early proponent of biodynamics and minimal-intervention, low-sulphur winemaking, Thiébault ‘s style is one of a very light touch and low extraction. These are softer expressions of Volnay and Pommard – supremely elegant and finessed. They can be enjoyed when young but will also age beautifully.
