In 1909, the Perrin family acquired the prestigious Chateau de Beaucastel in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Since then, through purchase or lease, it has added to its stable of premium vineyards in the Southern Rhone Valley, with holdings in Gigondas, Vinsobres, Cairanne, Vacqueyras, Rasteau, and Beaumes de Venise. The family’s stellar portfolio of brands reflects the richness and diverse terroirs of the Southern Rhone, and includes Chateau de Beaucastel, Miraval, Champagne Fleur de Miraval, Clos des Tourelles and Domaine Alexandrins, amongst others.
Today, with a worldwide reputation for excellence, Famille Perrin is managed by 4th and 5th generations. Early adopters of organic faming and biodynamics, their guiding principles are absolute respect for the soil, a commitment to manual methods and a deep belief that organic viticulture is the only way to express the true essence of the terroir. Thus, at Chateau de Beaucastel, no chemical fertilisers, pesticides or insecticides have been used since 1964.
The Perrin family is a proud member of the Primum Familiae Vini - an exclusive association of 12 of the world’s most prestigious wine dynasties – which promotes the values of family wine producers.
