Founded in the village of Meursault in the 19th Century, today Domaine Jacques Prier is under the stewardship of the Prieur–Labruyère families and is one of the region’s most important estates. More than 21 hectares of owned vineyards are cultivated, including a large collection of the greatest Grand Crus such as Musigny, Montrachet, Chevalier Montrachet, Corton Charlemagne Corton Bressandes, Echezeaux, Chambertin, Clos Vougeot and Chambertin Clos de Beze. A further 14 Premier Crus round out this iconic collection of vineyard holdings.
Under Daniel Godefroy, vineyard manager, pristine vines are impeccably maintained to produce fruit of exquisite quality, with each parcel vinified separately to reveal its essential character. Sustainable farming methods have been followed for many years and the estate now practices biodynamics. The winemaker is the remarkable Nadine Gublin - highly respected, she was named “Winemaker of the Year” in 1998 by the Revue du Vin de France, the country’s leading wine journal.
The domaine’s style is forward and charming with underlying power and richness. Bright fruit characters reflect the unique terroir of each site.
